Hello Fellow Jammers

March 29th, 2009 by DigitalSin

It’s obvious I don’t speak much unless I’ve got something to say. There’s a difference between muse and artist, and geez I don’t expect much. I chose to review the albums I like the most – while it’s clear that most people are also looking for critique or attention – the vast number of recommendations I receive would lead me to a fulltime job doing nothing but that; so it is that I think you would find this fair. I would hope that if any other person does not respond immediately or directly to your wills in an online environment that you would take this into account, because I believe those of you I’ve had direct communique with would hold me in a different regard than with what I am presented with currently.

In this respect it is a bit harsh to see that one person’s silence would lead to such reaction, but I suppose that is the easiest thing to do in a virtual realm (presumption).

About CC licensing..

It’s blatantly obvious I respect the legal terms of the licenses. Please note also by giving accredation directly in the song titles themselves – something that is not always done. Later, I went to further lengths to make it very clear what was done by stating plainly in the album descriptions what was what.

I suppose this is an interesting question, “who would promote my music for free?”, because that is how I viewed it. Obviously there are people who view things differently, because people are unique. Noone bothered to ask me.

Not that I should have to say this, but to speak bluntly I made zero monetary gain from this CC music here – even the commercial license versions. Perhaps it would be a good idea to take into consideration how you license your own work in the future if you are bothered by modifications to your work – I know that I will ;)

About “remods”..

When I chose the term remod, it was the simplest way to notate the modification. I made a conscious decision not to rearrange the composition itself, because I really liked the arrangements as-is. The term “remod” as applied by myself is ATYPICAL. Most people recognize remodulation as an application of synthesizers (for example FM synth remodulation), but in my case it was merely the most adequate term available. To think that it is merely a button press is a new level of absurd to me, because of the amount of time, effort and skill required.

Anyone with experience in “remodulation” will know it’s resultant is wild and erratic, therefore difficult to control – even when applied to a single instrument or measure or single phrase; let-alone an entire song simultaneously. So it is with confidence that I state this: what I gave you is more than music, it is ART. I went further and uploaded some of my own ART as well.

To the few it does concern: you know I tried to speak with you about things ;)
I don’t name names or implicate anyone in particular – that’s not “cool”, I don’t play such games. However, I would say that Atomic Cat is a really nice person ;)

Oblique perspectives on sociality..

If I recommend my own album to someone, and they don’t review it – you don’t see me acting crazy or being libelous ;) I think that speaks volumes, and perhaps I have lower expectations than most?

My, myself and I..

I’ve been working on an industrial-oriented, more rock-based album. It is taking me FOREVER.

Life and stuff..

Manipulation is not beauty. Beautiful is when you offer someone free will – that is to give them chance to do what they will to. Of all the beauty that exists, I’ve found that when you help someone without ever speaking to them directly – this is one of the highest form.

:)
